Tsukiji Market - Other Shops NOT Selling Fish…
Tuesday, May 27th, 2008If you think the Tsukiji market is all about fishes, you’re absolutely WRONG. There are many other shops selling stuffs like knives, boots, souvenirs and T-shirts, have a look for yourself!
Here Fishy, Fishy, Fishieee…
Saturday, May 24th, 2008From the title of the blog post, it’s not hard to guess that I’m going to blog about Tsukiji Fish Market! The Tsukiji Fish Market trip was supposed to be on our second day of Tokyo tour, but we found out that it was closed on that day from a time schedule found in our hostel. So we had to push it to the third day of our trip. Actually wanted to go there early to see the tuna auction, but we figured that the cab fee would be pretty ex, so we dropped the idea.
We woke up at 0530am, washed up and took the subway to Tsukijishijo station. Once we were there, we were trying to figure out which direction to go when Cute Dude said: “Aiya, just follow the basket lah…” Clever kid! We just need to follow any aunties carrying a shopping basket and we’ll be able to reach our destination! So we secretly crept behind an unknowing woman with a basket and followed her to the fish market…
Here we are at the infamous Tsukiji fish market! (Shhhh…. hope the woman in front didn’t notice that we are following her…)
Very useful resources for your Tokyo trip :-)
Thursday, April 10th, 2008Before I went to Tokyo, I went to my local JNTO (Japan National Tourist Organization) branch to gather all the brochures I need for my Tokyo trip. There’s sure lots of them there, and it was a real hassle to carry them all back. However, you don’t have to do that anymore. I’ve found that the JNTO website also provides downloadable files which introduces the popular destinations in Japan (I only found out after our trip, *SLAP on my head…)
Below is the download link for the toyko walks brochure, I’ve used them for all our trips in Tokyo, really handy :-)
