Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

If you think the Tsukiji market is all about fishes, you’re absolutely WRONG.  There are many other shops selling stuffs like knives,  boots,  souvenirs and T-shirts, have a look for yourself!

From the title of the blog post, it’s not hard to guess that I’m going to blog about Tsukiji Fish Market! The Tsukiji Fish Market trip was supposed to be on our second day of Tokyo tour, but we found out that it was closed on that day from a time schedule found in our hostel. So we had to push it to the third day of our trip. Actually wanted to go there early to see the tuna auction, but we figured that the cab fee would be pretty ex, so we dropped the idea.

We woke up at 0530am, washed up and took the subway to Tsukijishijo station. Once we were there, we were trying to figure out which direction to go when Cute Dude said: “Aiya, just follow the basket lah…” Clever kid! We just need to follow any aunties carrying a shopping basket and we’ll be able to reach our destination! So we secretly crept behind an unknowing woman with a basket and followed her to the fish market…

Here we are at the infamous Tsukiji fish market! (Shhhh…. hope the woman in front didn’t notice that we are following her…)

Nikko Trip: Part 4 (The Legendary Lake Chuzenji and the “Pseudo Mount Fuji”)

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

Lake Chuzenji is a beautiful lake created 20,000 years by the lava flow from the extinct volcano Mount Nantai. It’s water is drained through the nearby Kegon Falls.  With Mount Hangetsu as the backdrop, Lake Chuzenji forms a stunning scenery and is an attraction not to be missed.

After viewing the gorgeous Kegon Falls, it started to drizzle. We hasten our steps toward the nearby town to look for a hiding place.
