Sunday, April 6th, 2008On our 4th day in Tokyo, we went to Ueno Park in the morning. From our hostel, we took the subway train from the Asakusa Stn to the Ueno Stn via the Ginza Line. The park is a very short distance from the Ueno Stn, so it just takes only a few minutes walk to reach there.
Once we reach the park, we were greeted by a weeping cherry blossom/sakura tree (cause it’s too happy to see us…) standing behind a large smooth rock with some engravings (”Ueno Park” in kanji) on it.
Where We Stayed During 5 Days In Tokyo…
Sunday, April 6th, 2008No, we did not stay in some luxurious 5-star hotels during our trip in tokyo. To save up on accomodation (so that we could spend more on other goodies…), we chose to stay in a hostel. So the first thing I thought of was hostelworld.com. I used it everytime I’m travelling overseas and it has never failed me even once! One thing I liked about this site is that it compares the price every hostel in the area and provides real user reviews of them.
After much research, I chose to stay in Asakusa Ryokan Toukaisou. It’s cheap (only cost about US$117 per person for 4 nights)! For that price, you’d be surprised to find the hostel super clean, although the rooms are a little cramp. The location of the hostel is also close to famous tourist attractions such as the Sensoji Temple. Below are a few pictures of the hostel :-).

Why The Hell Did We Choose To Go To Tokyo?!
Sunday, April 6th, 2008Ok, I’m not gonna tell u smthg like “Woooh, cause it’s the most beautiful place on the face of the Earth”. In fact, it’s be one of the last few places I would think of going cause it’s so ex (I’m kinda stingy, ya noe..) The air tic is expensive, food is expensive, the transport is expensive…
To tell you the truth, the real reason behind our trip is our youngest brother (the chubiest of us all). He was heading back to the US for military training and wanted to make a transit to tokyo for a few days. Best of all, the air tic’s free! That’s why he asked us to tag along.
